1. About These Terms
1.1 What these Terms cover. These Terms of Sale (these "Sale Terms") govern your purchase of paid access to content on the Eventdoor platform, whether you buy a single event, a recording, or a subscription. They form a contract between you and Eventdoor LLC.
1.2 Relationship to the Terms of Service. Your use of the platform is governed by our Terms of Service, and your purchases are additionally governed by these Sale Terms. Where the two conflict on a question about a purchase (price, payment, renewal, refunds, or access you have paid for), these Sale Terms control. On every other question the Terms of Service control. The Privacy Policy describes how we handle your information.
1.3 Acceptance. By completing a purchase you agree to these Sale Terms. If you do not agree, do not complete the purchase.
1.4 Eligibility. We sell to buyers in the United States. You must have an Eventdoor account to purchase, and you must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may purchase only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these Sale Terms on your behalf.
2. Definitions
Terms defined in the Terms of Service have the same meaning here. In addition:
- "Content" means a live event, a recording of a live event, or an uploaded video made available on the platform.
- "Organization" means the school, league, event producer, or other business whose event is presented on the platform. Organizations supply Content to Eventdoor; they do not sell it to you. See Section 3.
- "Purchase" means a one-time purchase of access to specific Content.
- "Subscription" means a recurring plan that provides access to Content covered by that plan for as long as the Subscription is active.
- "Access" means the right to view the Content your Purchase or Subscription covers, through your Eventdoor account.
3. Who You Are Buying From
3.1 Eventdoor is the seller. Eventdoor LLC is the seller and merchant of record for every purchase on the platform. Your contract of sale is with Eventdoor LLC and with no one else. We set the price, we take the payment, and we are responsible to you for the sale.
3.2 Organizations are suppliers, not sellers. Organizations supply Content to Eventdoor under a commercial agreement with us. They do not operate a storefront, do not set prices, do not take your payment, and are not party to your contract of sale. Pages presenting an Organization's events may carry that Organization's branding; that branding does not make the Organization the seller.
3.3 Your statement. Charges from us appear on your card or bank statement as EVENTDOOR LLC, regardless of which Organization's event you purchased. If you do not recognize a charge, please contact us before disputing it. See Section 12.
3.4 Who to contact. Because Eventdoor is the seller, all questions about a purchase, including billing, access, and refunds, should come to us at support@eventdoor.com, not to the Organization.
4. What You Are Buying
4.1 A license to view, not ownership. A Purchase or Subscription buys you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to view the Content it covers through your Eventdoor account, for the period described in these Sale Terms. You do not acquire ownership of the Content or any rights in it. You may not record, download (except where we expressly offer a download), redistribute, publicly perform, or resell the Content.
4.2 Single purchases. A Purchase gives you Access to the specific Content described at checkout. Where the Content is a live event, your Access includes the live broadcast and, where we make one available, the recording of that event. We do not guarantee that a recording will stay available for any particular length of time.
4.3 Subscriptions. A Subscription gives you Access to the Content covered by that plan while the Subscription is active. The Content covered by a plan may change over time as Organizations add and remove events. We do not guarantee that any particular event will be included in, or remain in, a plan.
4.4 Free content. Some Content is available at no charge. These Sale Terms apply to free Content only where they say so; nothing in them obliges us to keep any Content free.
4.5 Availability is not guaranteed indefinitely. We may stop offering any Content, or remove it from the platform, including because our agreement with an Organization ends or a rights-holder requires it. If we remove Content you have paid for and you have not yet been able to view it, we will refund you under Section 10.2.
5. Prices, Currency, and Taxes
5.1 We set prices. Eventdoor sets all retail prices. Organizations cannot set, discount, or vary the price you pay.
5.2 The price you see. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay for that transaction. Prices may change, but a change never affects a Purchase already completed. For Subscriptions, see Section 8.4.
5.3 Currency. Prices are shown and charged in the currency stated at checkout. If your payment method is denominated in a different currency, your bank or card issuer may apply its own conversion rate and fees, which we do not control and do not receive.
5.4 Taxes. Where we are required to collect sales, use, or similar transaction taxes, we calculate them at checkout and show your total before you pay.
6. Payment
6.1 How we take payment. We take payment through our payment processor, Stripe. When you pay, you provide your payment details to Stripe directly; we do not receive or store your full card number. Stripe's handling of your information is governed by its own privacy notice.
6.2 Your authorization. By completing a purchase you authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for the amount shown at checkout, and, for a Subscription, for each renewal at the then-current price until you cancel. See Section 8.
6.3 Your payment method. You must use a payment method you are authorized to use, and you must keep your payment details current. If a renewal charge fails, we may retry it; what happens to your Access during and after those retries is described in Section 8.5.
6.4 Failed and duplicate charges. If you believe you have been charged incorrectly or more than once, contact support@eventdoor.com and we will investigate and correct any error we find.
7. Access and Delivery
7.1 When Access begins. We grant Access to your Eventdoor account as soon as your payment is confirmed. For a live event purchased before it begins, Access takes effect immediately and the event becomes viewable at its scheduled start time.
7.2 Delivery is to your account. We deliver Access to the Eventdoor account that made the purchase. It is personal to you and may not be shared, transferred, or sold. We may limit the number of simultaneous streams or devices on an account to prevent sharing.
7.3 What you need. You are responsible for the internet connection and the device you use to view Content. We are not responsible for a viewing problem caused by your connection, device, or network, and such a problem is not by itself a failure to deliver.
7.4 If you cannot access what you paid for. If a purchase does not appear on your account, first sign in with the same account you purchased from. If it is still missing, contact support@eventdoor.com.
8. Subscriptions and Automatic Renewal
Please read this section carefully. Subscriptions renew automatically and charge your payment method until you cancel.
8.1 Automatic renewal. When you start a Subscription, it renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and we charge your payment method the then-current price for the next period. Subscriptions bill monthly. This continues until you cancel.
8.2 What you agree to at checkout. Before you subscribe, we show you the billing period and the amount that will recur. By subscribing you consent to these recurring charges.
8.3 Renewal reminders. Where the law that applies to you requires notice before an automatic renewal, we send that notice to the email address on your account.
8.4 Price changes. We may change the price of a Subscription. We will notify you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your renewals. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for. If you do not accept the new price, you may cancel before it takes effect under Section 9.
8.5 Failed renewal payments. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it over a short period. Your Access continues during those retries. If payment still fails after those retries, your Subscription ends and Access stops.
9. Cancelling a Subscription
9.1 How to cancel. You may cancel a Subscription at any time from the subscription management area of your account. Cancelling stops all future charges.
9.2 When cancellation takes effect. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for. You keep Access until then, we do not charge you again, and we do not refund the unused part of a period you have already paid for.
9.3 No cancellation fee. Cancelling costs nothing.
9.4 If you cannot cancel online. If the subscription management area is unavailable to you for any reason, email support@eventdoor.com and we will cancel for you. We will treat a cancellation requested this way as taking effect no less favorably to you than one made online, and we will not charge you again after we receive it.
10. Refunds
10.1 Our approach. Digital Access is delivered immediately, so purchases are generally final. We nonetheless issue refunds in the circumstances described below, and we will always issue a refund where the law requires one.
10.2 When we refund. We will refund a Purchase where:
- the event you purchased is cancelled and not rescheduled, or is rescheduled to a time you cannot attend (Section 11);
- a technical failure on our side prevented you from viewing the Content you paid for, and we could not resolve it;
- you were charged in error, more than once, or for something you did not buy;
- we removed Content you had paid for and you had not yet been able to view it (Section 4.5); or
- applicable consumer law gives you a right to a refund.
10.3 When we generally do not refund. We generally do not refund where you changed your mind after viewing, where the problem was your own connection or device (Section 7.3), or for the unused portion of a Subscription period (Section 9.2).
10.4 How to ask. Email support@eventdoor.com with your account email and what you purchased. Ask within 30 days of the purchase. We aim to reply within 5 business days, and to send any refund we approve to your payment method within 10 business days of approving it.
10.5 How refunds are paid. We refund to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer decides how quickly the refund appears; we do not control that timing.
10.6 Effect on Access. When we refund a purchase, the Access it paid for ends. This is true of a partial refund as well as a full one: our systems end the Access attached to a transaction whenever any part of it is refunded. If you want a partial refund but want to keep your Access, tell us before we process it, and we will explain what is possible.
10.7 Statutory rights. Nothing in these Sale Terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
11. Changed, Postponed, and Cancelled Events
11.1 Live events change. Organizations run live events, and those events are sometimes postponed, rescheduled, shortened, or cancelled for reasons outside our control.
11.2 If an event is cancelled. If an event you purchased is cancelled and not rescheduled, we will refund your Purchase under Section 10.
11.3 If an event is rescheduled. If an event is rescheduled, your Access carries over to the new date. If the new date does not work for you, contact us and we will refund your Purchase.
11.4 If an event does not happen as described. If an event is materially different from what was described when you bought it, contact support@eventdoor.com and we will make it right, by refund where appropriate.
11.5 Our responsibility to you is unaffected by our arrangements with Organizations. We are responsible to you for the sale regardless of any agreement between us and the Organization that supplied the event, and regardless of whether that Organization delivered what it promised us. You never need to pursue an Organization for a refund.
11.6 Subscriptions. A single cancelled or changed event does not entitle you to a refund of a Subscription, which pays for access to a body of Content rather than to any one event.
12. Payment Disputes
12.1 Contact us first. If you do not recognize a charge, or believe something is wrong with it, please contact support@eventdoor.com before disputing it with your bank. This usually resolves the problem faster, and charges appear as EVENTDOOR LLC, which may not be the name you expected.
12.2 Disputes. You retain every right you have to dispute a charge with your card issuer or bank. Contacting us first does not waive that right.
12.3 Access during a dispute. When you dispute a charge, your bank normally withdraws the disputed funds from us straight away, before the dispute is decided. At that point the Access that charge paid for ends. If the dispute is later resolved in our favor and the funds are returned, your Access is restored. This is why Section 12.1 asks you to contact us first: if the problem is something we can fix or refund, you keep your Access while we sort it out.
13. Suspension and Loss of Access
13.1 When Access can end. Access to purchased Content may end if the purchase is refunded or reversed (Sections 10.6 and 12.3), if a Subscription is cancelled or lapses (Sections 8.5 and 9), or if your account is suspended or terminated under the Terms of Service.
13.2 Termination for breach. If we terminate your account for breach of the Terms of Service, we are not obliged to refund purchases, except where the law requires it.
13.3 If we end the service. If we discontinue the platform or a material part of it, we will refund the unused portion of any Subscription and any Purchase you have not been able to use.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Sale Terms. For material changes we will post notice on the site at least 30 days before the changes take effect, and we will update the Last Updated date, version number, and Effective date at the top. Changes never apply retroactively to a purchase already completed, and a change to Subscription pricing is additionally governed by Section 8.4.
